Average Prices for Grooming

All prices quoted for dog and cat grooming are APPROXIMATE, based on an average size of pet (according to breed) in GOOD condition. If your pet is exceptionally large, heavy coated, matted, or difficult to handle, it is possible the fee will be higher. If your pet is exceptionally small, thin, or short coated (for breed), the fee may be less.

Nail trim only:

$10

Sample Prices for Bath/brush/nails:

Pug, Jack Russell (smooth), Dachshund $20
Lab, Pointer, Rottweiler
$26-30
Golden Retriever $34-38
Husky, Bernese Mountain Dog $40-50
Cats - short hair $25-28
Cats - long hair $30-35
Sample Prices for Full Grooming with Haircut:
Bichon, Shih Tzu, Toy Poodle, Maltese $36
Lhasa, Cocker $38-40
Schnauzer, Welsh Terrier, Westie $36-38
Portuguese Water Dog $50-70
Standard Poodle $60-70
Cats shave down or lion cut if not matted $40-50

Cats: The price for grooming matted cats increases epending on the severity of the matting and the difficulty detangling the hair. Because cat skin is very loose and thin, it is possible to nick or even tear the skin during the process of removing matting. Therefore, we strongly recommend you have your cat groomed BEFORE it becomes matted.

Teeth Brushing: Brushing your dog's teeth, like your own, needs to be done every day to be effective and is best done by the owner at home. We do not offer teeth brushing as a service. Your veterinarian is the best person to manage your pet's dental health.

Our Pet Grooming Philosophy

While being groomed at Rexpointe, your dog or cat will be treated with the same love, care, and respect we show our own pets. When not being worked on, your pet will be kept in a roomy cage for its own comfort and safety. All dogs and cats will be offered water and exercised in our outdoor runs. Cats will be provided with litter boxes. Please DO NOT tranquilize your pet or give them drugs of ANY KIND. On the very rare occasion a pet exhibits behavior that may cause potential injury to the pet or the groomer, you will be asked to pick up your pet and take it to your veterinarian for appropriate calming medication so it can be groomed safely. If your dog or cat attempts to bite the groomer we may gently muzzle it for our own safety. However, most pets that do bite do so out of fear. We have learned that by handling a fearful pet with loving kindness we will earn its trust and facilitate a happy grooming experience. New puppies should start having a good grooming experience at an appropriate age. At Rexpointe, our staff feels grooming and pet care is a chosen profession. We love what we do, and we feel it shows in our work. We want all clients, canine, feline, and human, to be happy with our grooming and will work with you to make it so.

Why Regular Pet Grooming is Important

Regular grooming for your dog or cat, either professionally or at home, is essential for health and well-being. If your pet is one that requires professional grooming, he/she likely requires regular grooming at home, including brushing and combing. We can make your pet BEAUTIFUL with a little help from you. If your
dog or cat requires care between haircuts that you are unable to provide, we offer bath, brush, and nail trim services to keep your pet looking and feeling good. If your pet's hair becomes tangled or matted, we may have to shave the mats off. Please don't get angry with us! Though we want them to look as nice as possible, their comfort and safety is our primary concern.

We groom your pets because we love them. We do not want to cause any discomfort or potential injury by attempting to brush out matted hair. Even shaving can be uncomfortable as clippers pull on matted hair. If mats are tight close to the skin, there can be additional risk of injury or inadvertent nicks of the skin. We always use the utmost care to avoid injury to badly matted dogs and cats, but if you have allowed your pet's coat to become badly neglected, you may be asked to sign a waiver of liability if you insist we try to groom your pet. Our groomers are highly skilled and causing discomfort is extremely rare, but it is important that owners understand that appropriate grooming and coat care at home is extremely important.
